Every year industry professionals, fashion experts, bloggers and editors (like myself) travel around the world to attend Fashion Week and witness the trends for the next fashion season. This year, as an international correspondent for Vetta and as the Founder of Dreams in Heels, I made my first stop in Miami, followed by a visit to Medellin, Colombia to attend Colombiamoda. On my adventure, I had the opportunity to speak face to face with one of the most acclaimed Spanish Fashion Designers, Custo Adalmau, the creator of the high profile brand, Custo Barcelona, who will also be at our next stop, NY Fashion Week.
As an international guest at Colombiamoda, Custo wowed the audience with a collection that he described to Vetta and Dreams in Heels as “Color Contemporaneous.” The collection was vibrant with a bold mixture of fabrics and patterns. He showed a retrospective of his prior work mixed with his next collection, giving us a preview of what we will see in his highly anticipated Mercedes Benz Fashion Week Spring 2015 Collection runway show at the Lincoln Center in New York City. He said to us:
“My passion is making new creations, mixing, playing, and interweaving with colors and fabrics.” ~ Custo Barcelona
Designing custom clothing is not the only thing for Custo. He has also worked on cars, luggage, and kitchen elements, but the latest and most interesting project from him is designing for refrigerators. Yes, refrigerators. Custo is currently working on a new initiative and partnership with Colombian electro domestics company Haceb, creating designs for refrigerators. He created three different and unique fashion illustrations for the standard refrigerators and another three for the mini bars.
Custo was very excited to transport colors to the graphic world and to the world of cold. Now you can find refrigerators with style like you couldn’t find them ever before. Now our kitchens are being dressed by Custo Bareclona! As a fashion lover, I would love to say bye to my plain white refrigerator, and what could be better than getting a personalized design by Custo himself. To all our fashion enthusiast readers, would you purchase a refrigerator with style with the mixtures of colors by the one and only Custo?
