Today, September 22nd was the 20th year anniversary of the premiere of the TV show Friends. The show aired from 1994 to 2004. Through out the show people laughed, cried and fell in love with each of the characters. Who doesn’t remember Joey and his favorite line: “how you doin!” Or Pheebe’s guitar and song moments. Or Rachel’s fashionable outfits. Or the love stories that were born during time. Friends was a show that showed the situation that most of us in real life go through. Most people can identify with at least one of the characters.
On September 19th, a pop up shop called Central Perk open it’s door in Soho, New York. Central perk presented by Eight O’clock coffee is a representation of the coffee place where the cast of the TV Show Friends used to hang out through out the show. As you walk in, people welcome you with a big smile, you see the clothing, the guitar and other things that were in the show. As you go to grab your free cup of coffee, which you have 4 flavors to choose from, you can see the original gold coffee machine used on the set. There is also the famous orange couch that was used in the show. Now, it’s getting a little gray but still well preserved for being twenty years old. You can take a free photo with the friends frame at the couch. You can later download the picture from a site with a special code. At the end you can also buy some souvenirs such as t-shirts, mugs, limited edition central perk coffee, and more.
It’s a great experience to hang out with some friends over a cup of coffee. The pop up experience will be open until October 18th. The hours are Monday to Friday 8am to 8pmand Saturday and Sunday 10am to 8pm. Do not miss out, go and check it out. Speaking about love stories, I met a couple there who just got married a few minutes before. They wanted a picture on the couch. How adorable is that? Check out the pictures below and comment about your experience at Central Perk or about what was your favorite character on the TV show Friends!
