At a time when the fashion industry’s sole preoccupation is finding the next best thing, Balmain defiantly puts things back into perspective by summoning the runway goddesses of the 90s. Balmain’s creative director, Olivier Rousteing, casts Naomi Campbell, Cindy Crawford, and Claudia Schiffer for the French house’s Spring/Summer 2016 campaign. The stunning, sultry black-and-white photographs were released on Balmain Paris’s Instagram page Tuesday morning, January 7th.
In a press release, Rousteing states, “Those three singular talents have inspired me from day one.” He continues on to say, “When I was a schoolboy in Bordeaux, it was their editorials that first made clear to me the amazing transformative power of fashion. Still today, many years on, their iconic images are often found amongst the jumble on mood boards in my (and almost every other designer’s) atelier. To say that working with them was a dream come true is no exaggeration.”
Without a shadow of a doubt, these legendary beauties have not lost it one bit.
