Looking for the best travel skin care tips? Unless you’re a seasoned travel pro, it can be easy to make skin care mistakes when it comes to traveling. Vacation can cause havoc with your skin, especially if you’re traveling to a much hotter or colder climate than you are used to.
Follow these vacation skin care tips for the best holiday skin ever.

Best Travel Skin Care Tips: Looking after your skin while on vacation
Keep Your Skin Hydrated When Flying
The air conditioning on planes can be terrible for your skin, causing it to become dry and dehydrated. One of the best ways to take care of your skin while traveling is to keep well hydrated both before and during your flight.
Make sure that your skin is well moisturized before boarding and carry a hydrating face mist that you can use to top up your levels.
You can get a budget friendly one, like this one.
But my ultimate favorite face mist, which I always carry on the plane with me, is this beauty elixir since it is perfect for sensitive skin. The price is a little higher, but it is totally worth it.
Sunscreen Is Your Skin’s Best Friend
You should be wearing an SPF year-round to protect you from the risk of skin cancer and premature aging. If your vacation is in a hotter climate, choose a high SPF (50 is ideal).
You should be using this all over your body before you go into the sun, and reapply frequently throughout the day. Some SPFs are waterproof but it’s still a good idea to reapply after you’ve been for a swim.
Choose a specialist, oil-free SPF for your face like this one, as this can reduce the risk of breakouts.
Stay out of the sun during the hottest parts of the day, usually between 10 am – 2 pm and cover-up if you can.
Don’t Change Your Skincare Routine Suddenly
It can be tempting to try and completely change ourselves when on vacation. Taking our best clothes, lingerie, make-up, and that pricey skincare we received for our birthday and are waiting for the right time to use it.

Completely changing the products you use on your face suddenly can cause all kinds of problems. Your skin could start to break out or react badly to the new ingredients. You don’t want to be dealing with this when you’re meant to be having a good time.
Stick to your usual routine where you can. If you’re traveling light and don’t want to carry all of your skincare products around in your luggage, buy some small travel size bottles and take just what you need. No waste and no getting them confiscated at the airport.
Take Your Makeup Off Properly
OK, hands up, who is guilty of forgetting to remove their makeup every now and then (or more)?
Failing to remove all traces of makeup can cause the skin to age prematurely, as well as lead to those dreaded spots and dull skin. This, added to sun, chlorine, alcohol and a change in diet on vacation can spell disaster for your complexion, one that you’ll be trying to put right long after you’ve returned home.
Take the opportunity to go makeup-free when you can. After all, you don’t need a full face of makeup for swimming or lying on your own balcony. It’s nice to give skin a rest every now and again.

We hope that these tips for skin care during vacation are helpful to you. Looking after your skin when traveling is a must!
