Directed by Melina Matsoukas, Bey uses her video to touch on the social and racial issues affecting black communities in today’s American society through soulful, hip-hop rhythms; as well as, well executed hip-shaking dance routines. The music video takes place in modern-day New Orleans, Louisiana, which depicts her Southern roots of past and present.
