Many people, ask themselves when is the best time to visit Colorado. In my humble opinion, the best time is now! Colorado is a magnificent place to visit regardless of the time of the year. I truly enjoy this US state and it has become one of my favorite because of all the unique, amazing experiences to be had there. This is why I decided to write this post explaining the reasons why you should visit Colorado today.
Breathtaking views
Colorado’s scenic beauty is spectacular. The backdrop of the Rocky Mountains alone already makes visiting Colorado for your next vacation totally worthwhile. It is also so easy to find Colorado vacation rental.
Colorado has one of the most varied landscapes in the world and I can guarantee that you will be totally captivated. From the red rock formations, lakes, forest, wildflowers, sand dunes and touting the highest peaks of the North American Rockies, what’s not to love? Selfie to your hearts content; you can’t take a bad picture!
Outdoor Adventures / Endless variety of fun things to do
Colorado has incredible nature, which makes it the perfect backdrop for some fun, outdoor adventures. There is so much you can do: atv tours, utv tours, horseback riding around the canyons, being driven on a pro baja trophy truck, ride a bicycle around one of its cities, hike one of its many peaks, ski or go on a helicopter ride to appreciate all of the beauty from above. You name it! There is something unique for everyone.

Stargazing in Colorado
Believe it or not, I went stargazing in Colorado. What makes this an incredible experience is how many stars you can actually see at night in the Colorado sky. It is a great place to find your favorite constellations and there are peaks where you can even get a closer look. It is so dreamy and I totally recommend it. The night I went stargazing, it was the most beautiful evening, made even more perfect when accompanied by s’mores and hot chocolate.

Best time to visit Colorado – Great Climate during different seasons
Colorado is a very sunny state which, as a Caribbean girl, I love. Over 300 days of the year, you will find sunshine. It does snow a lot in the mountain resorts and surroundings, but this makes it a perfect destination to visit during the winter for those ski lovers! If you are not a fan of the snow, never fear. Colorado knows how to plow so that when you visit the cities, the snow is not too bad and it’s fairly easy to move around and explore. Also, I recommend that you simply embrace the snow by getting into one of the thermal hot pools. It is totally relaxing, and again, check out the views!

Attractive Cities / Best cities to visit in Colorado
Every city in Colorado has a certain charm. You can find a little bit of everything. I personally love Colorado Springs, which is the second largest city in Colorado. There is also Denver, which is all abuzz, with art and culture. Also, at the foot of the flatiron formation, you will find Boulder. A great place for hikers and nature lovers with a more laid-back vibe. There’s also Grand Junction where you can find many food and drink tasting and tours and meet authentic Native Americans (and learn about their traditions).
Great Wildlife
If you are an animal lover, you will fall in love with Colorado. You will find an immense variety of wildlife. One special and unique place is the Colorado Birding Trail, which is home to over 400 species of birds from across the states. Birdwatchers come from all over to visit.
Colorado is also known for having mountains goats, bald eagles, bighorn sheeps, moose, elks, wild rabbits and wild horses. There are many other wild animals you may find in certain areas (which I do not advise you to get to close) such as mountains lions and black bears. It is still a great place for animal-watching experiences.

Fun Festivals in Colorado
Colorado is the home of the festivals. Especially during the summer and fall, you will find all kinds of festivals, often spotlighting their local artists/artisans, to highlighting their food, craft beer, hot air balloon fiestas or simply music festivals.

Beer in Colorado
Beer enthusiast? If yes, then beer is already enough of a reason to visit Colorado. There are over 200 craft breweries around the state. You can find lots of great beer tastings and also Colorado hosts the largest domestic beer festival (The Great American Beer Festival) in the United States every year, in Denver. As a world traveler, even though I am not a beer fan, I still enjoy trying beer wherever I go. I was surprised that, while in Colorado, I found a beer which I genuinely liked. The name of the beer is Lips of Faith Transatlantique Kriek and it is made with polish cherries. It has a sweet and sour taste but it’s not too fruity, which is good because I personally love a more dry or semi sweet taste in general.

Must-see National Parks in Colorado
Colorado is the home to four outstanding national parks. As you probably guessed by reading my first paragraph, The Rocky Mountain National Park is a must-see. This park showcases the true beauty of the Colorado Mountains. The Great Sand Dunes National Park and Preserve has some of the highest sand dunes across North America. The Mesa Verde National Park, in Montezuma County, is known for having one of the world’s most preserved Ancestral Puebloan cliff dwellings, a notorious one, called the Cliff Palace. Last but not least, the Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park in Montrose County, by the Gunnison River, is a deep black sheer wall along a narrow gorge carved through Precambrian rock. Just breathtaking!
