A holiday spent in America can quite easily become a holiday of a lifetime if you know where to go and what to see. It’s a pretty big place, so there is no way you could see everything that might interest you in a single visit. Instead, try to pick one state per visit, and make sure you make the most of your time. After all, there are some wonderful gems (American Delights) in every region, and with fifty states to choose from, we’ve narrowed it down to just five for you:
Florida
This State is warm, sunny, and full of great tourist haunts. Of course, the biggest and perhaps the most popular has to be the Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando. We simply don’t have anything on this kind of scale back at home! You could choose to spend your entire Florida break away in Orlando and not be disappointed with the amount of choice. Why not also take some time out to try the beaches of Miami or find some history in Fort Lauderdale?
Tennessee
The State of Tennessee may be landlocked, but that doesn’t mean there isn’t plenty of great vistas to enjoy. The Great Smoky Mountains are a firm favourite for holidaymakers that love to be active and adventurous. Then, of course, is Nashville, the home of great American music. With this little guide, you’ll see why Nashville is such a firm favourite for visitors coming to the State. There is plenty to see and do, and you’re almost guaranteed to enjoy some fantastic gigs while you’re here.
California
Moviegoers all over the world come here for a chance to glimpse the stars or see a movie being filmed. But the State of California offers so much more than that. Some of the landscapes here are perfect for horse-riding, hiking, and cycling. The coastline is great for all the family, and there are, of course, all those famous Hollywood attractions that you might be keen to see. San Francisco is rapidly becoming one of the most attractive places to visit for tourists. With plenty of places to eat, drink, and enjoy a show or two, why not give it a go?
Washington
If it’s architecture that ticks your boxes, you won’t be disappointed when you visit Seattle. Don’t forget to bring your umbrella though, as there is quite a lot of rainfall most of the year round! What many visitors don’t realise is that there are snow-capped mountains, and lush forests to enjoy in the State of Washington too. Get out of the city and explore some of the other things this busy State has to offer. It’s not all about tech and coffee!
Mississippi
For reenactments galore, this is the State to visit. And if you love your music, then a visit to the birthplace of Blues is an absolute must! Mississippi is one of the least visited States for tourists, yet it can really pack a punch for sights of interest. As with all the best places to go, you can enjoy plenty of museums and galleries. You can also enjoy many zoos, including a big buffalo park. Enjoy.
