With Thailand being a tropical country it does have a rainy season. The rainy season isn’t the best for travel but it’s not the worst either. We have found the best time to visit Thailand is from November to April. This is outside of the rainy season and in the cool season as well. If you can we highly suggest you visit the end of March and stay till after April first. This is when Songkran is and we really love celebrating the Thai New year with one of the biggest water fights in the world.

Must-Visit Cities in Thailand
Many tourists say Koh Tao is their favorite city in Thailand. You get the true meaning of relaxing in this city. Koh Tao offers a diving certificate at a cheap rate. Many diving enthusiasts come here, get trained and get certified. Though many of them come to Koh Tao for scuba diving, there are a lot of things to do here. Hiking is one of them. Go hike at Jon Suwan, Love Koh Tao and Freedom beach. You can also go snorkeling at Kuang Yuan and you can be assured to enjoy a whole day.
Chian Mai is a mandatory city to visit when you are in Thailand. The city is covered with greenery and mountains. If you are a foodie, then Chiang Mai is for you. There are so many delicacies that you will fall in love forever. Khao Soi is a dish to die for and a must try when here in the north! Chiang Mai is for hiking, visiting historical temples, playing with cute Thai elephants, cliff jumping at the Grand Canyon and much more! Allocate one of your evenings for just shopping at the night market and to have the best of Thai food!
Pai is a nature lover’s place. You can take a long ride through amazing landscapes in Pai. You can also climb the Pai Canyon to see the view from there. Sunsets are said to be the best here. Waterfalls are something that is found in abundance in Pai. But, you can bathe only if you go there in the right season. There are also hot springs for your rescue if you are going in the winter months. Spare the night for the Pai Night Market. You will find so many things there. Don’t miss out to try the variety of Thai snacks there.
Head south for 200 km to Bangkok to reach Hua Hin. The city is situated on the Gulf of Thailand and is filled with so many restaurants. Hua Hin is famous for the Buddha on the Beach. Backgrounded by the mountains, this standing Buddha Statue is a delight to watch. You will find good massage centers here. There are two national parks in Hua Hin – Kaeng Krachan and Sam Toi Yot. Both of them are amazing and mighty that are worth spending your days for!
Koh Lanta is an island and an Old Town! You will find the main road where a lot of shops are lined up. There are a few temples and local markets. It is a perfect place for a leisurely vacation. Watch the fish drying on one side, the sea with its beautiful breeze on the other side as you have some amazing dinner. You must try the mango with sticky rice. It is super amazing if you are a sweet lover!
Krabi is a seaside destination in the south of Thailand. It is one of the most popular cities in Thailand. Rent a villa, swim by the beach, take soothing massages and enjoy the beauty of Krabi. You can do a day trip to Phi Phi island if you wish to. There is also a four-island tour package that you can take if you are willing. Adventure lovers can try scuba diving, zip-lining and rock climbing here. The Tiger Temple is another amazing place you should go when in Krabi. You have to climb 1237 steps though. If you are spirited enough, do try it and we assure you the climb will be worth it. There are many more things to do in Krabi and you must go there!
The capital city of Thailand, Bangkok is one of our favorite cities in the whole world. Though it is crowded most of the time, it is a city that has everything you desire for as a traveller. There are so many things to do in Bangkok. You can also choose to go to day trips from there. Beautiful Buddhas adorn the whole city. Food is something you cannot deny in Bangkok. Especially, the street food in Bangkok is super- delicious. In general, Bangkok is for fun lovers, party animals, and foodies!
Sukhothai is said to be the iconic capital of Thailand in the past. There are so many ruins and monuments in Sukhothai. There is a UNESCO world heritage site called Sukhothai Historical Park. Take a bicycle and explore this old city in Thailand.
Sangkhlaburi is six hours from Bangkok and is not as famous as other Thai cities. But, it is an incredible city with stunning waterfalls and a beautiful landscape. Sangkhlaburi surrounds the Vajiralongkom Dam. It is said that the old town was submerged and you can see the ruins when the water levels are low. The world’s longest Wooden Mon Bridge is present here. You will experience so many different things in Sangkhlaburi than the other places in Thailand.
At a 3 hour distance from Bangkok is Kanchanaburi. This place is usually for a day trip. More than a day trip, you can actually stay here for a while and just see the marvel of this city. The famous ‘Bridge Over the River Kwai’ is present here. This was a WW2 bombing location. Erawan Waterfalls National Park is another place to visit here. It is known for its turquoise blue waterfalls. There are a lot of caves and mountains in this area. A giant rain tree that is famous here. A perfect mix of a cultural and natural trip is what Kanchanaburi is all about.
Ayutthaya was the original capital of Siam. It is a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1991. The ruins of ancient temples are par excellent and speak so much history. You can take a cycling tour through the city or also a tuk-tuk ride. You must try the Roti Sai Mai and rice pancakes that are super-tasty in Ayutthaya.
Another popular city in Thailand is Koh Samui. This awesome destination is every traveler’s dream. Nothon, the main area of Koh Samui and the administrative center. This tropical island has a great nightlife with beautiful beaches and places to eat. Shopping is another exciting thing in Koh Samui. Explore the Saturday night market when you are here. Wat Chaeng and Hainan Temple are other popular attractions here. Hi, Lad waterfall is just a few minutes from Nathon. You can take a tuk-tuk to visit this pleasing waterfall!
