As a traveler, in addition to my amazing memories, I enjoy creating a keepsake for each place I visit. One of my favorite sayings is: “The best things in life are the people we love, the places we’ve been and the memories we’ve made along the way.” Pictures are treasures for most people and they can communicate feelings and stories. This is why I not only enjoy printing pictures but also creating cool crafts with them. If you’re looking to make something unique, in the comfort of your home, here are some quick ideas that you can put in practice.
One idea is to head to your closest Starbucks and purchase this DIY mug. All you need is paper and a color printer to begin. I recommend using quality glossy photo paper. It will not only preserve the color of the photos, but it will assure superior color. I use this paper to print my 4X6 portraits
This mug is cool because it will take you back to the best memories from your trips. It is also a thoughtful idea for a gift. It could be for someone who loves traveling, for your partner (pictures of your trips together) and/or even to include it with a wedding gift (pictures of the happy couple); Tip: You can even include pictures of wherever they are honeymooning.
Another quick idea is to create a collage of pictures that can be printed and framed. I personally prefer using Canva or Pic Monkey, or you can print your collage at home as well. I prefer to print in color, but black and white can add a vintage feel. BTW, color ink can be expensive which is why I also use Ink Plus Toner website to order discounted printing supplies.
After you have created and printed your collage, all that’s left is for you to buy a frame. My favorite is usually a magnetic frame (found at most drugstores, including Duane Reade, CVS and Rite Aid). It is very easy, inexpensive and great to put on any magnetic surface like your refrigerator, filing cabinet or door. They even make great gifts.
There are so many other cool personalized crafts that you can make at home, like gift tags, thank you cards, wrapping paper and much more. Just let your imagination fly and allow your memories to come alive. Which cool pictures crafts do you plan on doing first?
